Before you trust an investment ad, check who is behind it

The warning on record

In an advisory dated 18 February 2026, Grenada’s Cyber Security Incident Response Team said investment scams were targeting Grenadians and neighbouring islands through platforms including Facebook and Instagram.

The team said deceptive offers appeared as sponsored posts and advertisements, sometimes within otherwise legitimate content. It described promises of high returns with little or no risk, often wrapped in impressive-sounding financial or technological language.

The check

A paid placement does not establish that an investment is genuine. Treat the identity of the promoter and the substance of the offer as separate questions from where the advertisement appears.

What we can establish

This is a recap of a dated official warning, not a claim that a particular new account or company has been exposed. The linked advisory is the evidence for the warning; its age is made explicit here.
