A different kind of edition

The ninth Grenada Contemporary took the form of five days of activities rather than an open-call exhibition, according to organiser Asher Mains’s account published on 25 September.

Visiting Trinidadian artists Edward Bowen and Yao Ramesar led the programme at Art House 473 in Calliste. Painting workshops were followed by a screening of Ramesar’s Fortune for All and discussion.

The conversation

The organiser’s account describes artists exchanging ideas about audience, context and making work from a Caribbean perspective. It connects Grenada’s local creative community with artists working elsewhere in the region.

Looking back, not selling tickets

These activities have concluded. This is a sourced cultural recap, not an invitation to an upcoming screening or a review based on Signal attending the event.
