Grenadian stories take centre stage at this month’s film festival

The 1261 festival returns to Movie Palace from 18–25 October, opening with a night dedicated to Grenadian filmmakers.

The 12°N, 61°W Grenada Film Festival returns for its eighth season from 18–25 October 2026, continuing its partnership with Movie Palace in Grand Anse.

The organiser says the programme represents 15 countries and territories, with narrative films, documentaries, animation and other forms of filmmaking.

Start with Grenada Night

The opening on Sunday, 18 October focuses on Grenadian filmmakers and stories. This year’s theme, ROOTS: What We Inherit, explores family, culture, migration and community.
