The regional conversation

Grenada sent agriculture and blue-economy representatives to the 2026 Caribbean Week of Agriculture in Jamaica, according to a Ministry of Agriculture release published on 28 September.

The gathering’s programme included food security, agricultural business, climate-smart technology and export development.

The Grenadian connection

For an island importing food while supporting farmers and fishers, regional production and trade are practical concerns. The talks bring ministries, producers and development partners into the same conversation about how the Caribbean feeds itself.

What this does not tell us

The announcement describes the meeting’s agenda. It does not establish a new Grenadian food-price reduction, import rule or farming grant. Those would need separate announcements and evidence.
